Information Technology Department
The Information Technology Department at the College of Information Technology Engineering offers specialized academic programs aimed at preparing students in software development, cybersecurity, and intelligent systems management. The department focuses on integrating theoretical knowledge with practical applications within a modern digital learning environment, fostering innovation and technological advancement.
Vision:
To deliver an advanced undergraduate education in Information Technology that blends solid engineering foundations with modern digital technologies, producing graduates who can analyze complex problems and design scalable, reliable software solutions and platform architectures. The department seeks to prepare engineers with practical competencies in software engineering, databases, networking and cloud computing, cybersecurity, and data analytics—alongside a clear understanding of quality frameworks, governance, and compliance, and the digital and entrepreneurial skills needed to lead digital transformation across the public and private sectors. The department is committed to strict academic integrity, project-based learning, industrial partnerships, and disciplined use of cloud computing and continuous integration/continuous delivery (CI/CD) environments to ensure measurable, high-quality outcomes.
Objectives:
• Deepen foundational knowledge and engineering skills in algorithms, data structures, operating systems, and systems engineering.
• Master software solution design through design patterns, modern architectures, automated testing, and quality assurance.
• Develop platform and data competencies in databases, data lakes, and ETL/ELT pipelines.
• Enable networked and cloud architectures (containers, orchestration, serverless, and Site Reliability Engineering—SRE).
• Strengthen security awareness in cryptography, network and application security, and compliance fundamentals.
• Advance professional skills: technical writing, effective presentations, agile project management, and cross-functional teamwork.
• Embed innovation and entrepreneurship by turning projects into scalable prototypes and viable tech business plans.
