Strategic Partnership Between California University and the Swiss Association of Academics to Promote International Scientific Research.
California – Zurich | As part of their efforts to strengthen academic and scientific cooperation at the international level, California University of Science and Technology and the Swiss Association of Arab Academics and Scientists have signed a strategic partnership agreement aimed at advancing higher education, enhancing scientific research, and serving society.
The agreement outlines cooperation in organizing international scientific conferences, specialized seminars, and joint training workshops, in addition to the regular exchange of scientific committee members to enable broader participation from researchers and academics. It also includes the launch of joint research projects to foster scientific innovation, and the promotion of academic publishing in peer-reviewed journals affiliated with either party or their partners.
Dr. Awatif Al-Nouri, President of the Swiss Association of Arab Academics and Scientists, stated that this agreement represents a qualitative step forward in the path of academic collaboration, noting that it serves as a platform for scientific integration and the exchange of expertise. She added:
“Through this partnership, we aim to empower scientists and researchers to work in a shared international environment that enhances the value of scientific output and contributes to sustainable development.”
On his part, Dr. Mohammad Mustafa Kamal Naasani, President of California University of Science and Technology, said:
“This agreement spans three years, renewable upon mutual consent, and reflects the university’s commitment to global partnerships that support scientific research and higher education. We believe this step will help build long-term bridges of cooperation between the United States, Switzerland, and the Arab world.”
Dr. Al-Nouri also emphasized that to ensure the effectiveness of the collaboration, a bilateral coordination committee will be formed to develop an annual implementation plan, assign responsibilities precisely, monitor the progress of activities, and prepare periodic evaluation reports. Regular meetings – either in person or virtual – will also be held to assess the progress made and further develop areas of cooperation.
Both parties affirmed that the agreement is based on principles of equality, reciprocity, and fairness, while respecting the legal and administrative independence of each institution, and ensuring equal representation in all joint events and committees.
Dr. Naasani concluded by saying:
“With this agreement, California University of Science and Technology and the Swiss Association of Arab Academics and Scientists reaffirm their shared commitment to supporting scientific research and international academic collaboration, in service of academic and scientific communities at the regional and global levels.”
